1. Dwarf Cavendish
Dwarf Cavendish is widely grown and is a commercially important Cavendish cultivar. Young dwarf cavendish plants have maroon or purple blotches on their leaves. This variety of Bananas is grown in parts of Asia for mass cultivation and they are sometimes grown as tall specimen plants in gardens at the back of borders to add a touch of the tropics. These plants need significant winter protection.
2. Basrai
Basrai is a leading commercial variety of the Cavendish group of Banans. It is majorly grown commercially in Maharashtra. The stature of this plant is dwarf making it less prone to wind damage. The bunch size of Basrai, the fruit length, and the size are pretty good of this variety of Bananas.
3. Robusta
The Robusta variety of Bananas is generally large in size. These bananas are green-colored when unripe and turn to yellow when they ripen. These Robusta Bananas can be eaten raw, used in baking, fruit salads, making desserts, fruit compotes, and complementing other foods.
4. Lal Valchi
Red banana, also known as Lal Velchi, is the most relished and highly prized variety of bananas in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The bananas are sweet, orange-yellow colored, and with a pleasant aroma. The commercial cultivation of Lal Velchi is prominent in the Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu.
5. Safed Velchi
Safed Velchi variety of banans is considered a premium quality fruit for table purposes. It is cultivated in the Thane and Nasik districts of Maharashtra. This variety of bananas is generally medium-sized. The duration of this variety of bananas is about 13 months. Safed Velchi has a slender yellowish green pseudostem and can be generally recognized by the reddish petiole margin.
6. Rajeli Nendran
The Rajeli Nendran variety is said to display diversity in plant stature, pseudostem color, presence or absence of male axis, bunch size, and such other characteristics. These bananas have a distinct neck with thick green skin which turns buff yellow on ripening. This variety of bananas remain starchy even on ripening.
7. Grand Naine
Grand Nain bananas are popular banana cultivars of Musa acuminata. This variety of bananas is the most commonly cultivated banana. Grand Naine is a member of the commercial Cavendish banana cultivar group.
8. Poovan
Poovan is a leading commercial cultivar grown throughout the country. Generally cultivated as a perennial crop, Tamil Nadu is the leading producer of Poovan cultivars. Supply Terms
We work on FOB, CNF, and CIF basis. However, we prefer the CIF basis supply term as it helps us keep control of all logistical operations seamlessly.
Delivery Time
Normally, the first shipment takes about two to three weeks. Thereafter, future shipments can be loaded much earlier in three to four days time. For regular confirmed orders known in advance, we can ship daily or as per the demand of the customer.
Availability
Banana is available for the full calendar year thanks to the vast geography of India. We have tie-ups with growers from the Western, Central, and Southern parts of India. Therefore, our customers can rest assured of regular and uninterrupted supply for a full year.
Packing Boxes
Premium Carton boxes are used as specified by Indian Packing Institute with Bottom 5 Ply and Top 3 Ply.
Packing Options
We have three packing options 7 Kg, 13 Kg, and 18 Kg boxes (18 Kg boxes are subject to volume cap!). Normally, 13 Kg boxes are demanded by customers. However, for few select markets like Oman, they prefer 7 Kg boxes. Meem Exim has the support system in place to cater to both the requirements of clients!
Stuffing
We normally use non-palletized stuffing as per the demand of Gulf Markets. The basic advantage is it helps load more boxes in a container so it’s recommended. However, for advanced markets, Palletized mode of stuffing of boxes is done to suit the demand of that market keeping in mind customer requirements.
